Here's a little about me that you may or may not know:
I was born in Morganton, NC, and grew up in Glen Alpine. I am married to Michelle who is a 5th grade public school teacher of 29 years. We have 2 sons, Trevor who lives on the East Coast of Florida and has a charter fishing business, and Luke who will graduate high school this year and writes computer code in 5 languages.
Faith - I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and attend Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. I help teach our youth during Sunday school and run our sound during the main service. You can almost always find me at church on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. I attend a men's Bible study on Tuesdays during lunch at the Community House and again on Wednesday mornings from 7:30 until 8:30 via Zoom.
Work - President/Owner of The Ninevah Productions - we publish and distribute 12,000 printed copies of the Blue Ridge Christian News each month to Burke, McDowell, Mitchell, Yancey, Avery, and Madison Counties and have a large following on www.blueridgechristiannews.com and on our Facebook page. I previously served in the US Army, have been in sales and sales management in the new vehicle automobile business in outside sales, and managed 13 stores as a district manager for a nationwide automotive parts chain.
Hobbies - Golf, Fishing, Camping, Motorcycle riding, and laser engraving are just a few. You will also find me mowing the fields, gardening, and maintaining our long gravel driveway on the trusty John Deere tractor.
I am on the Community Relations Council for Avery/Mitchell Correctional Institution which supports the staff and inmates.
I served as Chairman of the Burke County Republican Party from 2021 to 2023 and made many contacts that will help me be a successful County Commissioner.
I maintain a professional agent license in Life and Health insurance in North Carolina and am also a Notary Public.
I love the United States of America and I love Burke County! I will bring a fresh look to the Board of Commissioners along with much life and professional experience. I am certainly not perfect but I strive to be kind to everyone and I promise to listen and communicate what's going on with the Board of Commissioners each month. I will be a voice for "everday" people because I am one. I will dig in and find ways to have less government, lower taxes, and defend the values that have made this a great nation. Thanks for your vote and may God bless you and your family.
